These DIY Kebabs are a fun, hands-on recipe that invites students to build their own skewers using a variety of meats, fruits, vegetables, cheese, and bread. Whether they stick with familiar favourites or try something new, every kebab is a personalized food adventure!

Ingredients
1 or 2 varieties cooked meat (such as chicken, turkey, or roast beef), 250 g (8 oz) total
1 or 2 varieties fruit (such as apple, melon, berries, or grapes), about 2 medium fruit total
1 or 2 varieties vegetables (such as sweet peppers, zucchini, mushrooms, or cherry tomatoes), about 2 medium vegetables total
1 or 2 varieties hard cheese (such as Cheddar, Mozzarella, Havarti, etc.)
1 or 2 varieties bread (such as naan, foccaccia, whole grain, or pita)
Directions
Cut fruits and vegetables such as sweet peppers or apple into chunks. Leave small mushrooms and cherry tomatoes whole.
Cut meat and cheese into cubes.
Cut bread into squares.
Place each ingredient in a separate bowl.
Invite students to stack meat, fruit, vegetables, cheese, and bread onto their skewers to create colourful kabobs.
NOTES: You can use thin-sliced deli meats rolled into tubes or folded into quarters for stacking onto the skewer.
